From Raw Steel to High-Grade Pipes: A Step Inside Our Manufacturing Facility

Krisha Mutta

Overview

For critical industrial applications across India, the Middle East (GCC), and Europe—including offshore oil & gas rigs, chemical plants, and power generation—piping performance is non-negotiable.
Operating out of Boisar-Tarapur MIDC, Maharashtra (India), Aaditya Stainless operates a premier manufacturing plant with an annual capacity of 6,000 MT. Engineered for global compliance (ASTM, ASME, EN, DIN standards), here is how we process raw steel into high-precision pipes and tubes:
Step 1: Raw Steel Sourcing & Positive Material Identification (PMI)
We source certified stainless steel coils and plates strictly from primary steel mills. Before production starts, our quality control team conducts PMI testing using XRF analyzers to verify exact chemical compositions—ensuring optimum Chromium, Nickel, and Molybdenum levels alongside complete Mill Test Report (MTC / EN 10204 3.1) traceability.
Step 2: Precision Slitting & Cold Roll Forming
Master coils are slit into precise widths matching exact outer diameters (OD). High-precision edge-trimming machinery ensures smooth, uniform edges before the strip enters multi-stage continuous tube mills to form circular pipe profiles.
Step 3: ASME Section IX Certified Seam Welding
Using automated TIG, Plasma, and Submerged Arc Welding (SAW), seam welding is executed under strict ASME Section IX standards. Weld seams undergo immediate internal and external bead trimming to ensure uniform wall thickness, high pressure resistance, and unhindered fluid flow.
Step 4: Continuous Solution Annealing & Heat Treatment
To relieve internal stresses from cold-forming and restore maximum corrosion resistance, pipes pass through continuous solution-annealing furnaces at temperatures up to $1150^\circ\text{C}$. Water-quenching restores full ductility and reactivates the metal's passive chromium-oxide layer—critical for sour gas, saline marine, and aggressive chemical environments.
Step 5: In-House Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Every batch undergoes mandatory in-house NDT inspection:
Hydrostatic Pressure Testing: Verifying leak-proof performance under extreme hydrostatic loads.
Eddy Current & Ultrasonic Testing: Scanning 100% of the seam length for micro-porosity or internal defects.
Dimensional Verification: Checking OD, wall thickness, ovality, and bevel ends to ASTM/ASME/EN specifications.
Step 6: Pickling, Passivation & ISPM-15 Export Packaging
Pipes are acid-pickled and passivated to guarantee maximum surface purity. Finally, ends are fitted with protective caps, bundled, and packed in ISPM-15 compliant wooden crates or heavy-duty HDPE wrapping—ensuring pristine delivery to job sites in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Mumbai, and European ports.
Trusted Stainless Steel Exporter & Manufacturer
Aaditya Stainless combines engineering precision with clean, transparent principles. Whether supplying energy majors in the GCC region, process industries in Europe, or infrastructure across India, we deliver certified quality built for extreme environments.
